Welcome to the Jungle!!!

So...school has started back up again. This means coaching + grading papers + lesson planning + laying new floors in the house = less blogging. Since I have a three day weekend I decided to take some time to blog again.

Today, on this cool 80° Arizona morning I noticed Finnegan in a part of our backyard known as the "The Jungle." He is trying to camouflauge himself in this picture.

As you can see he was having a grand old time

Until daddy had to cut down the 6 foot tall weeds.

The Great Poop Pyramid

It's amazing. Whenever I'm vacuuming the bunnies'pens I always make sure I get all of the poop and hay up; however, after I put the vacuum away there always seems to be poops I missed. This happens so often now that it really does not surprise me anymore.

This all changed yesterday when I got through vacuuming Finnegan and Missy's pen. After putting the vacuum away I walked through the door that leads to their pen, and noticed the darndest thing.















I'm not sure what Finnegan had on his mind. Was it a game of pool, a round of bowling, the construction of the great poop pyramid? No matter what his thoughts were I am most definitely impressed.

On a side note. You may be asking how I knew it was Finnegan. Well, he was sitting about three inches away from the poop site.

Roll The Bottle

Here is Koya playing a game of "Roll The Bottle" with his mom. It starts out fun, but Koya gets embarassed at the end.

The Longest Groom?

We have another rarity! This rarity is called the Kari Flop. It's not quite as rare as the Kibi Flop, but it is still rare. On top of that Haru comes over to Kari while she's flopped and precedes to groom her, and groom her, and groom her. Unfortunately, my internet connection timed out while uploading my video to YouTube; thus, you only get to see the 2 minute and 3 second version, instead of the 3 minute and 41 second version? Is this a new grooming record?

and flopped bunnies. HUH?!?! You may be asking yourself why flopped bunnies Casey? Mine flop all the time. I would have to agree with you. Our Haru flops all the time, but the others not as much, especially Kibi. I can count on three fingers how many times she has flopped since we have had her.

Yesterday, I happened to be sitting on the couch and noticed Kibi was flopped. I would have snapped a picture, but I only had my video camera near me. What you're about to see is some rare footage that you may never see again (unless you read this blog post).

The Binky Thump

Well, it seems as though Sir Finnegan has invented a new type of binky called the Binky Thump. You cannot hear it on the video; however, Finnegan will run, and then stomp and then do a slight binky. He has done many of these in the last couple of days, but these are the only two I have been able to get on film (along with some grooming shots). You have to figure he's about 5 1/2 years old, so he doesn't get much air (but it's the thought that counts, right).

In a further update, we found Missy grooming him today and he looked like he was in heaven. He closed his eyes and then was rolling his head around so that she could get to different spots. She then laid down for him to groom her and while he was grooming her she did a little flop (for a 6 1/2 year old rabbit that's pretty impressive). I don't think Sir Finnegan knew what to do, so he ended up running away. Unfortunately, Crysti and I were watching a movie and unable to get it on tape.

Oshibori Rabbit

Oshibori is a hand towel that is commonly used in bars and restaurants in Japan. Usually your server will hand you an oshibori before you eat. After you are done wiping off your hands you usually give back the towel, or you can make a rabbit. Click here to see how.
